Grow With Us

Teacher and students

Supporting the Jackson Public Hinds Pre-K Collaborative increases access to early education and invests in the future leaders of our community. Your potential contribution to our Pre-K program would fund resources for not only our youngest scholars, but also the educators who teach them. You can open doors for these scholars by creating opportunities at the beginning of their academic journeys that will carry them beyond their high school graduation.

Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by federal law. It also makes you or your organization eligible for a 1:1 Mississippi state tax credit. Find out more information about claiming the state tax credit below.

The tax credit is capped at $24 million total for the upcoming tax year. The cap for individual donors is $1 million. If you attempt to claim the tax credit after the cap has been reached, you will not be eligible to receive it. It is, therefore, to your advantage to file your taxes early next year.

The Mississippi Department of Education is keeping an estimate of how many qualifying donations have been made that will count towards the tax credit cap.
Keep this letter to file with your taxes. This letter serves as documentation that you made a contribution towards the matching funds of a state-approved early learning collaborative. It must be attached to your state taxes, along with state tax form 80-401, to claim the tax credit.

For more information on the tax credit program, contact Felicia Thomas, Ed.D, at or (601) 960-4002.
